Natural Stone Steps
Brief: Build a series of hamstone and Indian sandstone steps leading to the top of the garden, and to link two terraces.
Water pump to be installed at the base of the steps to circulate water down a central rill.
Lights to be fitted in the centre of each step.
Materials: Hamstone - a honey-coloured building stone sourced from Ham Hill in Somerset, England. It is a sedimentary limestone from the Jurassic period, known for its distinctive appearance and durability, making it a favoured choice for many architectural projects throughout Southern England.
Indian Sandstone - is a natural stone formed from layers of sand, silt, and minerals compressed over millions of years under extreme heat and pressure, often in low-lying areas or under the sea. Quartz grains within the sand naturally cement together, creating a hard, durable stone with a distinctive veined appearance.
